Based on our practical expierience we developed a data acquisition card that meets the following requirements:
- High interference resistance
- Polling is unnecessary
- Automatic data acquisition in one block with time stamp
- High sampling rate (195 kHz per channel, 8 channels) with high resolution (16 bit)
- Supports 2 encoder inputs (incremental encoder) (32 bit)
- 1 timer
- Easily programmable
We purposely did not put a processor on the XADIO 8 to spare the end-user from having to learn a manufacturer-proprietary processor architecture and developement environment. That way the XADIO 8 is driven directly by the PC's processor and can be easily integrated into a project environment. A prerequisite for this was that the data acquisition card must independantly acquire all of the data and copy it into the main memory of the computer.
